Royal Standard de Liege – KRC Genk || Stade de Sclessin in Lüttich, Belgien

The stadium’s surroundungs have a strong, English impression, as the Stade de Sclessin lies in the midst of an industrial part of the city, being surrounded by fabric facilities and brick houses. Starting from as early as two hours before kickoff, a huge red crowd of Standard Liège supporters can be seen streaming towards the stadium, which is also dressed in red and fittingly called „L’enfer rouge“, which means nothing less than „The red hell“. Once finally having arrivied the stadium however, I have no doubt left about being in Belgium. Big crowds of spectators gather in front of the many takeaways and bars surrounding the stadium, loud techno music is being blasted from numerous speakers, and a strong scent of coal grills is in the air, as well as an anticipating and beery atmosphere . „Royal Standard de Liege – KRC Genk || Stade de Sclessin in Lüttich, Belgien“ weiterlesen
