Zum Start nach der Winterpause empfängt RWO an einem nebligen Samstagnachmittag vor mehr als 2.000 Zuschauern die Zweite von Borussia Mönchengladbach. Im extrem weitläufigen Niederrhein Stadion ist anstelle der alten Emscher Kurve eine neue Stehtribüne direkt hinter dem Tor errichtet worden. Ein echter Gewinn. Anstatt das, wie früher, die Stimmung verpufft, kommt richtig Druck von den Heimfans.
Die haben ordentlich was zu feiern. Die Kleeblätter gewinnen locker 3-0 gegen früh dezimierte Fohlen und halten den Kontakt zu den Aufstiegsplätzen.

Für die hoch gehandelte und top besetzte Viktoria ist es ein neuer Anlauf Richtung Meisterschaft, die sie in den letzten beiden Jahren jeweils verpasst hat. Das Spiel ist von der Polizei als Risikospiel eingestuft worden. Deswegen ist der Stehplatzbereich der Heimfans auf der Gegengeraden direkt neben dem Gästeblock gesperrt. Alle Viktoriaanhänger sind auf der überdachten Sitztribüne versammelt. Angesichts der spärlichen Zahl von Gladbachern wirkt die Maßnahme der Polizei etwas übervorsichtig.
Auf dem Rasen werden die Rechtsrheinischen nach anfänglichen Problemen Ihrer Favoritenrolle gerecht und gewinnen verdient mit 3-1.

This year, Viktoria Köln’s chances to become division champions are particularly great, as they have a skilled team and are one of the league favorites, having been just short of becoming the division champs for the past two seasons. The game was classified as risky by the police in advance, which is why the standing area next to the visitor stand is closed today. Thus, all Viktoria Köln supporters are located in the covered sitting area. Looking at the low amount of guest supporterers that have come today, the safety measures made by the police seem a little ridiculous.
The home team manages to live up to their expectations as the favourite today, getting a well deserved 3-1 win.

Bernd, Borussia Park

Mit sechs Jahren war Bernd zum ersten Mal auf dem Bökelberg bei einem Spiel gegen den 1.FC Köln. Auch 40 Jahre später besucht er regelmäßig die Spiele der Borussia, zu denen er immer zwei bis drei Stunden vor dem Anpfiff kommt.
At only six years old, Bernd went to the old „Bökelberg“ stadium in Mönchengladbach for the first time, for a game against the FC Köln. 40 years later, he still regularly goes to the stadium to watch the Borussia play, sometimes being there as early as two to three hours before kickoff.

Kurt, Borussia Park

Kurt ist langjähriger Borussia Fan. Seit einiger Zeit erlebt er die Spiele allerdings nur von ausserhalb des Stadions beim Sammeln von Leergut.
Kurt has been a Borussia Mönchengladbach supporter for years, though he’s only been experiencing the games from outside of the stadium for a while now, collecting bottles for deposit.

Michael, Borussia Park

Michael kommt aus Hamm zu den Spielen der Borussia angereist und ist Mitglied im Borussia Fanclub »Grenzland Mob«. Sein erstes Spiel war eine 1-2 Niederlage im Pokal gegen Schalke 1988.
Michael is from Hamm and regularly travels to Gladbach to go to the stadium, being a part of the Borussia Mönchengladbach fan club „Grenzland Mob“. The first game he ever watched live at the stadium was a 1-2 domestic cup loss against Schalke in 1988.
