Andrè und Anja tragen seit vier Jahren Kutte. Bevor sie ihre Kutten genäht haben, wurden erst einmal ein Jahr lang Sticker gesucht und gesammelt. Die Pinsammlung besteht schon länger. Auf seinem Handy zeigt André mir verschiedene sehr ausgefeilte und immer komplett selbst genähte Karnevalskostüme der beiden. Er sagt, sie seien »immer schon extrovertiert« und »wenn wir was machen, dann richtig«. Andrè and Anja have been wearing traditional vests for four years. Prior to having stitched their vests, they collected stickers to stitch on them for roughly a year. The pins on Andrès hat however have been around for longer. He shows me photos of several very polished self made carnival costumes of the two of them on his phone and tells me how they had „always been extroverted“ and „when we do things, we do them properly“.

Die Fans sind dem Aufruf der Ultras »Alle in Rot« mehrheitlich gefolgt, die Tribünen leuchten in Rot. Viele tragen ein T-Shirt mit der Aufschrift »Europa Auffressen«, das von Fans vor dem Spiel verkauft wird. Die vom ganzen Stadion gesungenen Hymnen »In unserm Veedel« und »Mer stonn zo dir« sind beeindruckend. Das Spiel läuft zunächst nach Plan, die Heimmannschaft spielt druckvoll und geht verdient in Führung. Ein Platzverweis gegen Köln ändert das Spiel, die Ungarn können das Spiel binnen weniger Minuten mit zwei Toren drehen. In der zweiten Halbzeit gelingt dem FC in Unterzahl trotz großem Kampf, überlegenem Spiel und lautstarker Unterstützung von den Rängen kein Treffer mehr. Das Spiel geht 1-2 verloren. Die Spieler aus Székesféhervár feiern mit ihren Fans; sehr zum Missfallen des Heimpublikums. It’s a festive atmosphere as Cologne hosts its first international game in five years, taking on the Hungarian Féhervár football club for a Europa Conference league playoff game on a Thursday night. The majority of the fans in the stadium tonight followed the red dress code set by the clubs ultras as the stands glow in red. Many supporters wear a shirt that says „Europa auffressen“(which can be translated to „devour Europe“) and is sold by supporters prior to kickoff. The traditional hymns „In unserm Veedel“ and „Mer stonn zo dir“ sound impressive sung by the whole stadium. The game goes according to plan for Cologne at first as they manage to go up 1-0 early thanks to their aggressive playing style. The tide soon turns on them however as one of their players is sent off with a red card, enabling Féhervár to score two goals in quick succession to take the lead. Despite a hard-fought and dominating second half performance by the home team, who receive loud support by their supporters in the stands throughout, they don’t manage to score another goal, causing them to lose the game 1-2. The guests from Székesféhervár and their supporters get to celebrate together, much to the displeasure of the Cologne supporters still in the stadium.
Jörg ist vor allem FC Fan, besucht aber auch relmäßig die Spiele im Sportpark Höhenberg. Wie Ralf hat er eine bewegte Geschichte als FC Anhänger. Jörg is primarily a 1. FC Köln supporter, but also watches the games of Fortuna Köln regularly. Just like Ralf, he has an eventful history as a FC Köln supporter.
Ralf geht zum FC und zu Viktoria, vor allem zu den Heimspielen. Früher war er viel mit dem FC unterwegs. Jetzt hat er Familie und ist ruhiger geworden. Ralf is both a 1. FC Köln and Viktoria Köln supporter, primarily watching their home games. He also used to go to away games of the 1. FC Köln fairly often, but has gotten less active since he started a family.
