Helmut, Parkstad Limburg in Kerkrade, Niederlande

Anhänger von Roda Kerkrade

Helmut ist aus dem nahen Aachen angereist. Seit dieser Saison hat er zusammen mit seinem Sohn eine Dauerkarte für Roda. Vorher ist er 37 Jahre zu Alemannia gegangen. Deren Abstieg in die Viertklassigkeit hat ihm jedoch die Lust genommen. Sein Schal hat nichts mit Fußball zu tun, es ist der Schal einer Karnevalsgesellschaft.
Helmut has traveled from the nearby German city of Aachen to watch today’s game. Since this season, he owns a Roda JC season ticket after having been an Alemannia Aachen supporter for 37 years. The reason for his change of heart is the Alemannia Aachen’s recent relegation to fourth division, which turned him off. His scarf has nothing to do with football, it’s the scarf of a carnival society.

Sophie und Jörg, Westfalenstadion

Jörg hat zwei Dauerkarten und nimmt abwechselnd seinen Sohn oder seine Tochter zu den Spielen mit. Da der Sohn erst zehn ist und heute selber Fußball spielt, kommt die vierzehnjährige Sophie in den Genuss des Flutlichtspiels in der Woche.
Jörg owns two season tickets and regularly takes either his son or his daughter to the stadium with him. Since his son is only ten and has a football match himself today, his 14 year-old daughter Sophie gets to come along to see this exciting floodlit game midweek.

Christian und Nils, Westfalenstadion

Christian ist mit 18 Schals und vier Fahnen ausgestattet. Er ist schon mehr als zehn Jahre Stammgast. Seit dieser Saison gehen er und Nils zusammen zu den Spielen.
Christian is equipped with a total of 18 scarfs and four banners. He’s been a regular for over ten years and always goes to the stadium along with Nils since this season.

Ton, De Geusselt in Maastricht, Niederlande

Ton ist Allesfahrer. Er hat die Programme sämtlicher Spiele der letzten 20 Jahre, ausser denen, bei denen es keine gab, wie z.B. letzte Woche bei einem Fünftligisten im Pokal.
Er erzählt, dass der MVV nie etwas gewonnen hat. Das Einzige, was das Gründungsmitglied der Ehrendivision je erreicht hat, war der holländische Verein mit der längsten Erstligazugehörigkeit zu sein. Als dieser Rekord 1976 nach dem ersten Abstieg verloren ging, war das für die Anhänger sehr schlimm.
Ton ist Mitglied des Supportes Club des MVV und trägt einen Schal von Anfang der 80er.
Ton watches all of his favorite club’s matches, owning the programme of all of their games from the past 20 years, with the exception of away games against clubs that don’t offer one. Like last week for example, when the MVV played against a fifth division team in the domestic cup. He tells me that Maastricht has never won anything despite being a founding member of the Dutch Eredivisie. The only major achievement of the team was being the Dutch club that spent the longest time in first division. That record was lost in 1976 however, when the team relegated to second division, much to the regret of their supporters.
Ton is a member of the MVV’s „Supporter’s Club“ and is wearing a scarf from the early 80’s.

Konstantin und Felix, Esprit Arena

Die beiden sind schon lange Stammgäste bei F95 und haben alle Höhen und Tiefen mitgemacht. Dies ist ihre erste Saison seit Ewigkeiten ohne Dauerkarte. Sie tragen ein 90er Jahre Erstligatrikot mit Unterschriften aus dieser Zeit.
They both have been regulars for a long time, having been through both ups and downs of Düsseldorf’s history, though this is the first season in forever they don’t have a season ticket for. They are wearing Düsseldorf jerseys from when the team was playing in the Bundesliga in the 90’s, decorated with player signatures from that time.

Paul und Charles || Elland Road in Leeds, England

Paul und Charles sind Zwillinge aus Halifax. Charles ist 3 Minuten älter als Paul. Sie gehen schon seit langen zu den Spielen von United. Vor zehn Jahren haben sie ein Angebot des klammen Vereins angenommen und eine Dauerkarte für 20 Jahre zum Preis für zehn Jahre gekauft. Pauls Schal ist noch aus den 70ern.
Paul and Charles are twins from Halifax, having been born three minutes apart. They have both been Leeds supporters for a long time. Ten years ago, they bought a season ticket lasting for 20 years for the price of a ten year ticket as a special offer. Pauls scarf is  from the 70s.
