Die vier Anhänger des Fehervar FC sind heute 14 Stunden aus Székesfehérvár mit dem Auto angereist. Nach dem Spiel geht es in ein Hotel und dann morgen wieder zurück nach hause. Gabor und Alexander, Zoltan und Adam: sind jeweils Vater und Sohn. Sie fahren regelmäßig zusammen zu Auswärtsspielen. The four Fehervar FC fans drove 14 hours to Cologne all the way from Székesfehérvár. They plan to leave again as soon as tomorrow after staying in a hotel overnight. Gabor and Alexander, as well as Zoltan and Adam are each pairs of fathers and sons who regularly visit their teams away games together.
Adam trägt ein Ultra T-shirt. Er hofft auf ein Unentschieden im Spiel heute. Sein Vater Zoltan war 1985 beim Uefa-Cup Endspiel des Vorgängervereins Videoton gegen Real Madrid im Stadion »But that’s history«. Adam is wearing the shirt of an ultra supporters group. He’s hoping for a draw in tonights match. His father Zoltan once was in the stadium for the 1985 Uefa-Cup final between Real Madrid and Fehervar FCs predecessor club, Videoton, „but that’s history“.
Rainer ist direkt von der Arbeit zum Spiel gekommen. Er trägt bei der Arbeit Krawatte und immer diese, wenn Alemannia Aachen spielt. Rainer came straight from work to see todays game. He routinely wears a tie to work and this particular one is reserved fordays where Aachen games take place.
Katharina unterstützt die Alemannia schon seit langem. Sie hat eine Dauerkarte für den Tivoli. Heute ist sie aus der nahen Eschweiler Innenstadt gekommen um bei diesem Vorbereitungsspiel gegen den VFR Aalen den Kader für die neue Saison schon mal in Augenschein zu nehmen. Alemannia gewinnt 2-0 und hinterlässt einen guten Eindruck. Katharina, a long time Alemannia Aachen supporter, is a season ticket holder. Having come out from the nearby town of Eschweiler, she plans to watch todays preseason match to see how the new roster for this upcoming season performs. Alemannia Aachen manages to impress en route to a 2-0 winning effort.
Am Wochenende wurde das erste Fotografie-Festival der StädteRegion Aachen eröffnet. Über vier Wochen lang werden an vielen spannenden Orten in Aachen und in der Region circa 500 Fotografien in 16 Ausstellungen zu sehen sein. Das Motto dieses Festivals ist Allianzen. In diesem Zusammenhang zeigt die Galerie S. Fotos von Matin Parr und mir unter dem Titel Fußballfans & Royal Parties. Galerie S., Im Hof 3, 52062 Aachen, gleich neben dem Domkeller. Die Ausstellung ist vom 29.8. bis 26.9. jeweils Freitag – Sonntag 14 – 18 Uhr geöffnet.

Karnevalssamstag. Am 23. Spieltag der Fußball Bundesliga empfängt der SC Freiburg Fortuna Düsseldorf bei herrlichem Vorfrühlingswetter. Das Stadion ist stadtnah in einem Wohngebiet gelegen. Wenn alles nach Plan läuft, ist es das siebtletzte Heimspiel im ehemaligen Dreisamstadion, bevor der SC in eine neue Arena umzieht. Die Stimmung ist entspannt. Viele Fans kommen kostümiert. An der Wurstbude vor dem Stadion gibt es Freiburger Lange Rote — geknickt, damit sie besser ins Brötchen passt. Alternativ kann man auch Merguez bestellen. Frankreich ist nah. Als Bier wird leckeres Tannenzäpfle ausgeschenkt, vereinzelt sehen wir aber auch Zuschauer mit Weingläsern. The many, costume wearing spectators in the stadium make for a relaxed atmosphere. There is a sausage stand in front of the stadium, at which you can get a „lange Rote“, a traditional sausage from Freiburg. The sausage is broken over in the middle in order to better fit in the bun with which it is commonly served. The French influence on the Region is illustrated by the fact that you can alternatively acquire Merguez sausages. And even though the stand serves tasty „Tannenzäpfle“ beer, many local spectators seem to opt to drink wine instead.
Im ausverkauften Stadion steht man wunderbar nah am Spielfeld, mit Blick auf die Ausläufer des Schwarzwalds direkt dahinter. Die Stimmung bleibt trotz des mäßigen Spiels freundlich. Die Anfeuerungen kommen fast ausschließlich von der gegenüberliegenden Nordtribüne. Fortuna gewinnt 2 – 0, und man hat den Eindruck, dass der SC noch Stunden spielen könnte ohne ein Tor zu schießen. The southern stand of the sold out stadium provides us with an excellent view on the game, as well as on parts of the black forest behind the stadium, being located exceptionally close to the pitch. With only a few minor exceptions, the atmosphere is almost exclusively created in the northern stand and stays modest throughout the game, in spite of a less than satisfying performance from the home side, who concede a 2 – 0 loss to the visitors and could seemingly play on for hours on end and not score a single goal.
