Markus has been living in Nuremberg for a while and owns a season ticket for all of the club’s games.
Steffen is from Bernburg. The first football game he ever saw on TV was the German domestic cup final of 1993, in which Hertha Berlin II played against Bayer Leverkusen. When his dad’s former idol during his times playing in the first division of the German Democratic Republic, star player Ulf Kirsten, scored the deciding goal of the match to make it 1-0, Markus’s passion for Leverkusen was born, which has lasted ever since.
The two are old friends that have met up particularly to watch today’s game in Leverkusen.

Benjamin, Bay Arena

The first Leverkusen game Benjamin ever watched in the stadium took place in 1991. Back then, the team still played in the „Ulric-Haberland-Stadion“, where they took on Fortuna Düsseldorf. More than twenty years later he’s still a supporter – and even owns a season ticket by now. The scarf was made for him by his grandma about five or six years ago, for the „winter matches“, as she put it.

The apple truly doesn’t fall far from the tree at the worker’s club of Leverkusen. Jürgen has been a Bayer leverkusen supporter for about 20 years, his son Sascha has been following his father’s tradition starting from the late 90’s. Together, they participate in a fan club called „Werkself Löwen“. The fact that the two are matching nearly perfectly is pure coincidence according to them and the fact that their sweaters are reminiscent of certain Ultra groups is also just a choice of fashion rather than having to do with any fan-political convictions.
